We want a smoke-free Louisiana, and we’re letting our legislators know that the time has come for them to vote in our best interests—not the best interests of their campaign funds.

We know precisely how much money the tobacco and gaming lobby has spent to influence the votes of Louisiana’s policy makers—and it’s pennies on the dollar compared to what they stand to make by keeping smoking in our public spaces. Not only that, but it pales in comparison to our health care costs for treating smoking-related illnesses.

While Big Tobacco makes millions off the people in Louisiana, we’re stuck at the bottom of every national health ranking, dying off by the thousands each year due to smoking, and we continue to subject ourselves, our musicians and our service industry members to secondhand smoke in bars and casinos.
